Harji Singh Harji founded Trans Indus Ltd in the UK in 1988, which he ran with his wife as a family company till 2012 – it was voted the Best Travel Company in the UK by the Association of Independent Tour Operators and won "Silver" at the British Travel Awards, considered the Oscars of travel. He is no more associated with Trans Indus and is focussed on his new venture, The India Travel Company, which aims to be the first and possibly the only company in the world of travel exclusively promoting India on a global scale. Harji specialises in creating unique, personalised itineraries for clients whose long list has included many celebrities. An MBA from London Business School, Harji is an aerospace engineer and the former Managing Director of Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation.
Ajeet Bajaj An adventurer and explorer, Ajeet, is the first Indian to have completed the Polar Trilogy - skiing to the North Pole, to the South Pole and across Greenland. With over 30 years of experience in adventure sports, he has rafted and kayaked some of the most challenging rivers over six continents. Ajeet is the founder and Managing Director of Snow Leopard Adventures Pvt Ltd, a National Tourism Award winning organization promoting innovative and sustainable adventure travel since 1990. In 2012 Ajeet Bajaj was conferred the Padma Shri , one of the highest civilian awards, by the President of India. On May 16, 2018, Ajeet Bajaj along with his daughter, Deeya, became the first Indian father-daughter duo to climb Mt Everest.
Shibani Vig Meet Shibani at any point of time, and chances are that she's planning her itinerary to another dream destination. That's how passionate she is about travel – having been on the move with her army dad as far back as she can remember.
Shibani has traversed the country on her own - And it was on one sojourn through Arunachal Pradesh that she understood that there was a need for a platform to help Women experience India. And what holds other women back from exploring on their own, is a lack of safety and comfort. This insight is what inspired her to start a travel outfit that caters exclusively to women's groups and to dream about getting women from all over the world to experience the real India.
Prerna Dharni Prerna's fascination with maps, atlas, capitals and anything to do with travel has taken her around the country. Whether it is backpacking in Thailand or biking in Leh, she has travelled across cities exploring places, cuisine and meeting people. With a degree in History and English Literature, and a Masters in International Politics from JNU, she has worked in the social development sector with organisations namely — Centre for Social Research and the American India Foundation on gender and disability rights. In our product development team now, she lives her passion for India - its food, history and progress; sharing it with the rest of the world.
C Balagopal Founder of Peninsula Polymers, the largest manufacturer of blood bags in India, now sold to Terumo from Japan and called Terumo Penpol, Bala was a former civil servant in the North East and is the author of a book on Manipur, "On a clear day you can see India". He is a popular public speaker and has a deep interest and involvement in community development projects. Bala has extensive contacts in Japan and is keen to bring Japanese travellers to India.
Vinita Nambiar After post graduate studies at Oxford in Sociology, as a Rhodes Scholar, Vinita set up and ran a successful placement company at Bengaluru catering to the then nascent IT sector. She then turned to running an NGO focused on gender issues called VOICES and ran it for several years. She now lives in Kochi and spends her time between running the ANAHA Trust that invests in social entrepreneurship projects, community work, reading, and travel, besides looking after our interests in the South.
Vikas Tandon Founder of Indigo Consulting, one of the leading digital marketing companies in India with several awards to its credit; now bought over by Leo Burnett, Vikas started his career with Harji in travel in London before establishing himself as an outstanding entrepreneur. HSBC is one of the many key websites developed and managed by his company. Vikas was the first MBA to be hired by Harji from IIM Ahmedabad.
Nicole Grossman Director of a London based company looking after visitors to Britain, Nicole has over a decade of experience in the travel trade, and has travelled extensively in India which she is passionate about. She divides her time between London, Berlin, Singapore and Delhi.
Sejoe Jose Founder of Marvel Tours, winner of Best in-bound Tour Operator awarded by Kerala Tourism, Sejoe is a leading player and innovator in the field of travel with over 16 years of experience in the field. He owns his own houseboats and arranges cycling in Fort Kochi, yoga in the villages, canoeing in the backwater canals, paragliding in Munnar and night patrols in the jungles of Periyar.
