Kerala - An Invitation to God's Own Country
Aug 29 to Sep 11, 2019

Flight - Cochin (Kochi) - Munnar - Madurai - Periyar - Backwaters (Kumarakom) - (Cochin)-Flight

One of 50 "must see places in a lifetime" as per National Geographic Traveller, Kerala is abundant in natural beauty. The range of hills on the East and a long coastline on the West shelter a narrow piece of tropical land that is rich and green, with flowing rivers, canals and the unique eco-system of the backwaters. Paddy in the fields, richly laden plantations of pepper, nutmeg, cardamom, rubber and coconut, animals in the wild, a variety of chirping birds, elephants swaying to the temple music of pancha vadyam, sumptuous cuisine, life quality of residents matching that of developed countries…. God's Own Country is an apt name. In this tour we take in the most popular attractions of Kerala – the charming port city of Kochi, the beautiful tea country of Munnar, the wildlife and elephants of Periyar, and the famous backwaters – we take a detour to visit the 2000-year old Meenakshi Temple in Madurai, with its vibrant streets and Tamil culture. There is the option of staying on for a few days at an inviting beach resort. The resorts used are top of the range and the tour will operate to our usual high standards.
