This tour is an excellent introduction to the culture of Burma, taking in the most popular and spectacular sights this beautiful country has to offer. It starts in Yangon where you visit the majestic Shwedagon Pagoda, then travel up to Bagan and its thousands of stupas and pagodas. Continue on to Mandalay and the ancient capital cities of Ava and Amarapura before going on to the vast Inle Lake. You then have a few nights of relaxation at the pristine beach of Ngapali before returning to Yangon. Accommodation is a tasteful mix of character and traditional style hotels with some modern ones.
Day 01 - London
Fly Emirates via Dubai.
Day 2 - Kolkata
Transfer to The Grand; at leisure.
Days 3 & 4 - Yangon
Fly to Yangon and transfer to the Governor's Residence Hotel for two nights. Visit the sights of Yangon including Shwedagon Pagoda.
Days 5 & 6 - Bagan
Fly to Bagan and check into the Thiripyitsaya Hotel, on the banks of the Ayeyarwaddy, for two nights. Visit the imposing Pagodas of Bagan and take an excursion to Mount Popa.
Days 7 & 8 - Mandalay
Fly to Mandalay, the centre of Burmese culture. After checking in to the Sedona Mandalay Hotel for two nights, visit the Golden Palace, the Kuthodaw Pagoda and the revered Mahamuni Pagoda; also visit the Amarapura Monastery to witness monks going to breakfast, U Bein's Teak Bridge and the unfinished pagoda at Mingun.
Days 9 & 10 - Inle Lake
Fly to Heho in the morning and transfer to the picturesque Inle Lake. Stay at the Inle Princess Resort for two nights. Visit the unique leg rowers, the floating markets and the Jumping Cat Monastery.
Days 11 & 12 - Ngapali
Fly to Ngapali for two nights relaxation at the Sandoway Resort; at leisure.
Day 13 - Agra
Fly back to Yangon for a night at the Governor's Residence.
Days 14 & 15 - Kolkata
Take your flight to Kolkata for two nights at The Grand; visit the Victoria Memorial, St Paul's, the Museum and Mother Theresa's Home.
Day 16 - London
Fly back via Dubai.
